Stud Focus

The focus is on breeding big sound Simmental sires to mate over the beef herds of New Zealand, as well as breeding stud sires. Approximately twenty of the second string bulls are sold every November as yearlings to dairy farmers.
2013 will see Beresford hold its first on farm bull sale, after selling bulls at the Combined Owaka Bull Sale for over twenty years

Beresford Simmental Stud was established in 1981 with cows purchased from the Sycamore herd. Over the years, cows have been bought in from various stud dispersal sales. Originally bulls were bred to support the commercial operation – 400 plus females and supply bulls to local clients.
