REPORT ON LYNMARS DISPERSAL SALE
29TH OCTOBER 2009.

Inspite of the adverse weather report, 165 Lower Flag Road, Hastings turned on a rainless day for the Lynmar Studs (Kerry and Linda Nankervis ) dispersal sale. The sale was held due to a change in farming policy and was conducted by PGG Wrightsons using the Helmsman method. According to all concerned the sale and prices were above expectations with the following results:

  • Cows with calf at Foot – average price $1999 with a top price of $3100 sold to the Gold Creek  stud of the Sanson family ,Gisborne.
  • Heifers in Calf – average price $1500 with a top price of $2700 sold to the Parkdale Stud of Bryan Aldridge, Christchurch.
  • Yearling Heifers Unmated – average and top price of $850 sold to the Glenanthony stud of Tony and Glennis Thompson, Waipukurau.
  • Pregnant Recipients – averaged $1500 with the top price of $1500 sold to Tony and Glennis Thompson, Waipukurau and the Cedarwood Stud of Kath Cann, Kerikeri.

 

PROSPECT SIMMENTAL COMPLETE DISPERSAL

On March 6th at Mt Prospect Station, Te Anau. Ross and Joan Cockburn dispersed their Prospect Simmental Stud which had its beginnings 27 years ago.

Some 60 people viewed the impressive lineup of cows , calves and heifers plus 3 MA Stud sires including the Australian import, Woonallee Gladiator.

PGG Wrightsons head auctioneer, Bruce Orr commented, “it has been many years since I have had the Pleasure of selling such a Magnificent line up of cattle of any breed”.

RESULTS :

  • 37  MA cows averaged $1164 with a top price of $1700 purchased by the Hampton Down stud of Malcolm and Ngairie Entwhistle who also bought the top  priced heifer calf for $2600

  • 33 R3&R4yr heifers averaged  $1295 with a top price of $2000 purchased by the  Lynmar Stud  of the Nankervis family who also bought the top priced bull calf for $2100.

  • 36 R2yr heifers averaged $1102 with a top prices of $1500 being paid by Dave Keown of the   Stud and Wentwood Grange Stud belonging to
    13ylg heifers averaged $1003  with a top price of $1550 being paid by Murray Elliot for a Woonallee Gladiator daughter.

  • 19 heifer calves averaged $1128 with a top of $2600

  • 17 Bull calves averaged $1261 with a top of $2100

  • Top price MA sire was Moneymore Rawhide which sold for $10000.
